Hey everyone!

I had several discussions about the rules with Mark Young earlier today. I also noticed players talking about them after the games. The reason I wanted to bring this up is based on not obeying the rulebook on certain aspects, which will be shown below.

For my point of view, I've seen and experienced all the past events during the last three days and one meeting wouldn't hurt at this point to avoid any further conflicts we may otherwise have. My point here is to get everyone on the same level about the rules, and also to keep players to play by the book. We are playing at Worlds, or are we ?

Meeting is going to be held in the briefing room on tuesday evening at 11pm, with the following participants:
A) Tournament Coordinators (Mark + John)
B) Team Captains (AUS, FIN, USA)
C) Referees (never knew the names, and never will)

My suggestions for the topics are:
* Terminations (Accidentally given and the ones based on the rulebook)
* Arena Movement (Quick movement / Running / Jumping < one foot rule >)
* Walls and sling-shots
* Base Evac and "Pass" -rule
* Leaning / 90 degree rule
* Stand-Offs
* Crouching / Kneeling

Little pack demonstration on the topics above would suffice.

Mark suggested me to post it here, so here's the message! This all may sound a little bit too much, but at this point the meeting about the rulebook and it's certain topics are really needed to be discussed and clarified. Referees and players, it's time to wake up!

Post your own thoughts / suggestions we should have a discussion of. With this meeting, Mark + players won't have to have their daily painkillers anymore :smt021:.

Remember: Captains meeting on tuesday at 11pm (referees included). Inform other Captains!

PS. I feel already sorry for Mark to jump in and fix everything, again :(

See you around! Keep tagging!

Thanks!

I think it's a great idea!

Base Evac, in particular is SOOOO nuanced. It's really hard to have simple rules to govern everything.

See ya then!

Mark

I think it would be good to talk about how people are shouting above the waking up sounds. Imo easy solution is to set vest voices louder because it's really hard thing to terminate.

I think the packs pretty much are as loud as they can be unfortunately.

We also need to go over covering as well. Some of these games are the dirtiest I've ever seen.

+1

Players should attempt to avoid cursing directly at another player, it will considered in violation of the rules to continually insult another player. Shouting curse words at one’s self or other teammates is also protected under this rule.

We should also discuss do we want a rule which would block the case of stunned player coming 1feet of you just covering his team mates behind, especially in bases. (basicly at enterance and also near T-wall under base unit)

By the rules so far, it goes by the book that it's ok, but is it really something we want to zone? I suggest we would disallow that in bases (there should be refs all the time), when ref thinks a player does it on purpose and actually work like a meat wall.

Or then we just play the with this "feature" enabled.

In our nats rules
http://auszone.net/files/natsdocs/Natio ... 1final.pdf
We have the following rule:

Quote:
3.1.4 Shot Blocking
a) Players are not permitted to intentionally block shots at other players or the
base units by way of intercepting laser fire with any part of their pack or body

This is pretty straight forward, and as you said its really obvious to see it happen (especially in bases).
